"No Youth" was created by rhythmically tuning the little bathroom transistor radio and then looping it, and everything else was built upon that. The repetitive declarations are meant as a sort of meditative chant of hope, which is bookended by the loss of naivety ("youth") in the face of an "enormous human cost".
